I hear from leaders who were one not too long ago unshakably AI devotees now claiming that AI hasn't reduced work - it has simply raised expectations of how much work can be done by one person.
Research is also beginning to show that AI increase work intensity, and blurs work-life boundaries.
While AI has not fully replaced humans - it has started to replace what makes humans effective.
We are less creative
Human connections are dwindling
No time for mental recovery
Unreasonable expectations at work and in personal life
As we debate adoption rate and productivity gains, other questions worth asking:
Are we making better decisions, or simply making more decisions?
Has AI reduced cognitive load, or increased it?
Are we preserving human judgment, or outsourcing it to statistical models?
